Masjid Negara

This mosque is one of the best examples of postmodern architecture I have ever seen.  The National Mosque of Malaysia, also known as Masjid Negara, was built in 1965 from reinforced concrete with the main roof which is reminiscent of an open umbrella and the minaret’s cap a folded one.  Reflecting pools and fountains spread throughout the compound reflect the beautiful calm one finds within.
